Luke Riley leads a successful youth ministry at Ash Creek because he has a real love for young people. He is involved with students at school where he helps out with the drum line and percussionist of Azle High School Band. He has an excellent working relationship with other youth ministers in the area.
He has led the youth in mission trips, discipleship, and fun excursions. One of the most popular activities is Youth Prime Time on Wednesday nights.
He is married to Jennifer, a teacher with Azle ISD, and they have an adorable little boy, Thomas.
He is a graduate of Delta State University and Southwestern Seminary.
The Music Ministry has grown in size and diversity since Fred Himstedt joined our staff as Minister of Music in 2003. He has continued the tradition of an excellent Sanctuary Choir and Adult Hand Bells while adding an orchestra, a ladies' ensemble, and a men's ensemble. The music program also includes a youth choir and drama team and children's choir program for elementary and older preschool children.
His wife, Cherry, is a Teacher's Aide in the Lake Worth School District. They have four grown children, three sons and one daughter, and four grandchildren.
He is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Seminary.

has transformed our Sunday School. During his tenure the enrollment and attendance have reached all time highs. As administrator he has involved members in new areas of service and organized an efficient and congenial staff. His experience and people skills have been a great addition to our church.
He is married to Melinda who is a retired elementary school teacher from Azle ISD. They have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.

Dr. G. Wesley Shotwell has been serving at Azle Creek since 1998. Under his leadership the congregation has continued to grow, new staff members have been added, and a new educational building has been completed.
He is married to Margie who is a tutor for the Azle ISD. They have two sons, William, a college student and Jason, who is in junior high school.
He is a graduate of Baylor, Southwestern Seminary, and Vanderbilt University.

Ash Creek Baptist Church, located in Azle, Texas, is a vibrant and growing congregation that has ministered to its community for over 130 years. Established in 1871, Ash Creek has been a leader in establishing new congregations in the area. We offer three morning worship services, one at 8:15 and two at 10:45 (Contemporary and Traditional) with a host of other activities. Ash Creek cooperates with other Baptist Churches through the Tarrant Baptist Association, Baptist General Convention of Texas, Southern Baptist Convention, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. We are also involved in the Azle Community through the Ministerial Alliance, Community Caring Center, and Azle Chamber of Commerce. The people of Ash Creek invite you to join us each Sunday for Worship and Bible study.
The LLL Club is an organization for Senior Adults that meets once a month for fellowship and a meal. The meetings are varied, entertaining, and educational. There are special field trips to area sights and activities.
Children have many opportunities to grow through music, missions, and Bible learning activities.
Preschoolers meet in our new educational facility and have a fenced in play area to enhance their many organizations.

Ash Creek has many avenues for a person to use their musical talent to worship God. Fred Himstedt co-ordinates the following activities and if you are interested in becoming part of one of the groups, please feel free to contact him.
In addition there are special performances at Christmas and Easter that you are welcome to get involved in even though you may not be a member of one of the above groups.
